Iraq Condemns Joint US-Saudi Strikes as Sovereignty Violation

Iraq's National Security Council condemned joint US-Saudi air strikes on Wednesday that killed at least 20 members of the Iran-backed Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF).

The attacks targeted PMF bases across seven Iraqi provinces, prompting Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi to cancel his scheduled visit to the Saudi capital on Thursday.

Kataib Hezbollah, an Iran-aligned group, has issued an ultimatum to the Iraqi government, demanding proof of defense for national sovereignty by August 6.
