Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping welcomed steady progress in India-China relations during a meeting on the margins of the BRICS Summit in New Delhi.
Modi emphasized that peace and tranquillity in border areas remain essential for bilateral ties, urging both sides to observe existing agreements.
Bilateral trade grew from about $93 billion in 2019 to $127 billion in 2025, while the trade deficit rose from $57 billion to nearly $100 billion.
