Saskatoon High School Reopens After Fire Destroys 26 Classrooms

Bethlehem Catholic High School in Saskatoon reopened on September 2, 2026, for the first time since an August 7 fire destroyed 26 portable classrooms and displaced nearly 800 students.

The school has implemented a split-day schedule where Grades 9 and 10 attend morning sessions and Grades 11 and 12 attend in the afternoon to manage the reduced facility space.

Police are currently conducting an arson investigation into the suspicious blaze, while school officials state that the timeline for replacing the destroyed classrooms remains uncertain pending structural and insurance assessments.
