Petrol pump dealers in Madhya Pradesh and other regions have warned they may stop accepting UPI transactions above Rs 2,000 starting October 15.
The threatened restriction is a protest against a proposed 0.4% merchant discount rate on UPI fuel payments, for which dealers are seeking a complete exemption.
Dealers argue that rising operating costs and unchanged fuel commissions make it impossible to absorb additional transaction charges, drawing concern from trade bodies like CAIT.
