MBBS and BDS interns in Jammu and Kashmir have launched an indefinite strike to protest against low stipends, demanding an immediate hike to ₹30,000 per month.
The interns argue that the current compensation is insufficient given the rising cost of living and the long hours required during their mandatory internship period.
Hospital services are expected to be impacted as the interns refuse to resume duties until the government provides a written assurance regarding the proposed stipend increase.
