Five Arrested After Violent Brawl at Coweta County Football Game

Five individuals were taken into custody after a large fight broke out during the halftime of a football game between East Coweta High School and Newnan High School on Friday.

School district officials and deputies discovered a firearm on the ground behind the home stands while intervening in the altercation, though the weapon was not discharged during the incident.

Coweta County School System Safety Director Danielle Rosa stated that law enforcement is currently investigating the ownership of the recovered gun and whether any formal charges will be filed against those detained.
