James Copenhaver, Injured in 2024 Trump Rally Shooting, Dies at 76

James Copenhaver, one of three campaign rally attendees shot during the 2024 assassination attempt on Donald Trump, died Wednesday in Pittsburgh at age 76.

Copenhaver sustained arm and abdomen wounds during the Butler rally when a gunman opened fire from a nearby rooftop, requiring multiple surgeries and lingering treatments.

Copenhaver and his wife filed a federal lawsuit in June alleging the Secret Service and Department of Homeland Security failed to provide appropriate security.
