Oracle has started a new round of layoffs beginning September 14 as part of an organizational restructuring, with certain teams facing workforce cuts exceeding 10%.
The workforce reductions coincide with massive capital expenditures and debt to expand AI data centers, with first-quarter capex reaching $28.5 billion.
In a regulatory filing, Oracle increased its projected restructuring expenses for fiscal 2026 by about $700 million to a total of approximately $2.8 billion.
