Tamil Nadu CM Vijay Launches Gold Ring Scheme for Newborns in Madurai

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay launched the Thaimaman Thanga Mothiram Thittam at Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai on September 28, 2026.

The poll promise by the ruling TVK provides a one-gram BIS-hallmarked gold ring featuring the state logo and Chief Minister's image to newborns in government hospitals on or after June 22.

During the inaugural function, gold rings were presented to 27 infants, including three babies belonging to Hindu, Christian, and Muslim families.
