Baijnath Kumar Paswan, a first-generation learner from Jharkhand's Bermo coal-mining region, secured the Chevening Scholarship to study Energy and Climate Policy at the University of Sussex.
Paswan achieved the fully funded scholarship on his third attempt after facing initial application rejections and placement on a reserve list.
The academic milestone led to student leadership opportunities, international networks, and a research internship with Pele Energy Group in South Africa.
