Actor Vijay's party emerges as single largest party in Tamil Nadu

Actor-turned-politician Vijay's party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, secured a major political debut by winning 108 seats to emerge as the single largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

Vijay stepped away from his film career, where he reportedly earned over Rs 200 crores per project, to establish his political party two years prior.

Industry experts noted that his message-driven commercial films over three decades helped build the mass public support behind his political rise.
