Rintu Sarkar, a 46-year-old former bus conductor, was arrested on Wednesday morning in West Bengal's South Dinajpur district after sitting in his home's temple with his wife's severed head on his lap.
Police stated that locals and eyewitnesses reported the murder occurred during a quarrel in the early hours of Wednesday in Gangarampur town's municipal ward No. 4, after which Sarkar also brought his two minor sons to the temple.
Sarkar told local media that he became a psycho after being sacked three years ago on disciplinary grounds, while district police noted neighbours claimed he was previously arrested twice for getting into trouble.
