A meeting of 20 rebel TMC MPs aligned with the NCPI saw 10 members stay away on Thursday, as attendees discussed legal and political moves regarding a disqualification petition before Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
Those absent included Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, Sayani Ghosh, Yusuf Pathan, and Dev, while attendees claimed the absences were due to personal commitments, travel, or prior engagements rather than any internal rift.
The two-week deadline for the MPs to respond to disqualification notices ended on Thursday, with the group planning to seek an extension of another two weeks for their replies.
