A 44-year-old Salvadoran national was rescued alive after spending 20 hours in the Ionian Sea clinging to a lifebuoy after going overboard from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship.
The passenger was spotted inside an orange life ring by the cargo ship MSC Rossella III, which assisted the Hellenic Coast Guard in the search operations near Zakynthos island.
Following her rescue, she was transported to a local hospital in Katakolo, where a prosecutor ordered a psychiatric evaluation after she stated she jumped to disembark.
