Market regulator SEBI is examining position limits for non-agricultural commodity contracts to improve liquidity and market depth without weakening risk controls, chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey announced on Saturday.
SEBI is also engaging with stakeholders to reduce structural friction and address GST-related issues affecting participants who exchange commodities through platforms.
Additionally, the regulator plans to strengthen Project Jagrook to spread awareness of commodity derivatives among farmers, FPOs, and MSMEs.
