
Scientists warn that the Pacific island nation of Tuvalu could become unliveable by the end of the century due to rising sea levels and climate change impacts.
A marine heatwave in 2024 reportedly destroyed an estimated 99.9% of the coral formations supporting the islands, according to marine biologist Austin Bowden-Kerby.
Local scientist Rajneel Singh noted that climate change has reduced fish sizes and catch frequencies for the country's population of 10,600.
