Israel prepared to shoot down a flydubai flight heading to Tel Aviv after a co-pilot allegedly attacked the captain and the aircraft plunged 14,000 feet.
The Israeli Air Force scrambled fighter jets and closed airspace when no answer was received from the cockpit, according to two Israeli sources.
The fighter jets were recalled after the aircraft turned towards Saudi Arabia, where Saudi jets were also scrambled following the emergency.
