Jharkhand Protests Continue Despite JSSC-CGL Exam Cancellation

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren cancelled the JSSC-CGL examination on August 18, 2026, following a 24-day protest against alleged recruitment irregularities.

JLKM leader Devendra Mahto ended his 16-day hunger strike, but three other protesters, Rahul Kranti, Sabita Kumari, and Rupesh Pal, continue their fast into the 25th day.

Protesters and successful candidates now demand a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe, while a committee under IAS officer Amitabh Kaushal will suggest future recruitment reforms.
