Over 200,000 Displaced in Sudan's Kordofan Region

The United Nations reported that intensified fighting since late 2025 has displaced more than 200,000 people in Sudan's Kordofan region, with Sheikan district seeing a 25% surge in displacement.

Drone attacks by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have targeted critical power infrastructure in el-Obeid, disrupting water pumping and healthcare services for a population now estimated at 3.4 million.

Seasonal flooding in North Darfur has further compounded the crisis, damaging nearly 1,350 homes and displacing over 1,000 families in the first half of August 2026.
