The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has issued over 150 notices to major food companies in recent months for misleading advertisements and labelling non-compliance.
The regulatory crackdown targets prominent firms including Nestlé India, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola India, Abbott India, Red Bull India, Danone India, Mondelez India, Ferrero India, and Kenvue.
This initiative follows Mondelez India's decision to withdraw specific health and nutrient-comparison claims for its Bournvita product amid broader scrutiny of packaged food marketing practices.
