Madras High Court Orders Station Bail for Udhayanidhi Stalin

The Madras High Court directed the Thanjavur police to release DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin on station bail following his arrest on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.

Justice G.K. Ilanthiraiyan disposed of the anticipatory bail plea after Advocate General Vijay Narayan confirmed that police do not intend to remand the leader in judicial custody.

The arrest followed an FIR registered under multiple Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections, including 79 and 296b, regarding an alleged derogatory speech made in Thanjavur on Monday.
