A Tripura court sentenced a 30-year-old man to life imprisonment and imposed a ₹25,000 fine for raping and impregnating a 17-year-old girl.
The offense occurred in August 2021 in Khowai district when the survivor, a Class 11 student, visited the convict's home to tutor his children.
Police filed charges under IPC sections 376(1) and 506 and Section 4 of the POCSO Act following medical examinations that confirmed pregnancy.
