Jharkhand Government Cancels JPSC Exams Following Student Protests

The Jharkhand government agreed to cancel the 14th JPSC preliminary and backlog examinations of 2023 and 2025 on August 9, 2026, following six hours of talks with student groups.

Technical and Higher Education Minister Sudivya Kumar stated the state accepted 98% of demands, including forming a committee for a judicial probe and establishing a fast-track court to file charge-sheets within 90 days.

Students rejected the resolution as insufficient, demanding a CBI probe into JSSC-CGL irregularities and continuing their agitation with a planned march to the State Assembly on August 10, 2026.
