Congress MP Bimol Akoijam Backed By Manipur Women Wing

The women's wing of an influential social organisation in Manipur expressed support for Congress MP Angomcha Bimol Akoijam upon his arrival in Imphal on Friday.

The MP is facing sexual harassment allegations from JNU students that led to his dismissal by the university on October 9, prompting protests from the BJP's youth wing.

Mr. Akoijam stated that his legal team is proceeding cautiously because institutions have become fragile, while Congress accused the BJP of trying to divert attention from ethnic conflict.
