Rumesh Pathirage Wins Commonwealth Games Javelin Gold

Sri Lankan athlete Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage secured the gold medal in the 2026 Commonwealth Games javelin final at Glasgow's Scotstoun Stadium with a throw of 89.75 metres.

India's Neeraj Chopra claimed silver with a season-best throw of 85.83 metres, while his compatriot Yash Vir Singh took bronze with a personal best of 85.41 metres.

Defending champion Arshad Nadeem exited the competition early after three throws, while world champion Keshorn Walcott finished sixth with a final effort of 82.55 metres.
