
Domestic benchmark indices extended losses on Thursday as the RBI's hawkish rate hike and rising crude oil prices heightened inflation and tighter financial condition worries.
The Nifty 50 fell 0.76 percent to 22,424.70, while the BSE Sensex declined 0.63 percent to 72,187.97 as of 10:39 IST, with 14 of 16 major sectoral indices trading lower.
Foreign institutional investors offloaded equities worth over 6,121 crore rupees on Wednesday, while domestic institutional investors made net purchases of around 4,596 crore rupees.
