The Joint Committee of Tiruppur Knitwear and Textile Cluster urged the Union government to establish a minimum floor price for cotton yarn.
Industry participants stated that garment manufacturers have been adversely impacted by frequent and steep increases in yarn prices.
The committee also called for the removal of import duty on cotton for five years and priority cotton allocation from the Cotton Corporation of India.
