Akshay Kumar to Play Rajesh Khanna in R.D. Burman Biopic

Akshay Kumar has signed on to portray superstar Rajesh Khanna in an extended cameo for the upcoming R.D. Burman biopic directed by Neeraj Pandey.

The film, which features Farhan Akhtar in the titular role, is scheduled to begin production in October 2026 with a 10-day shooting schedule for Kumar.

Makers aim to recreate the professional dynamic between Khanna and Burman, leveraging Kumar's personal connection as the son-in-law of the late actor.
