Tata Sons Board Reappoints Chandrasekaran While Tata Trusts Calls Decision Illegal

The Board of Tata Sons reappointed N. Chandrasekaran as executive chairman for a five-year term by a majority vote during a meeting on Thursday.

Majority owner Tata Trusts termed the reappointment illegal after Noel Tata voted against it, while four board members approved the decision.

The board also resolved to initiate steps to comply with RBI guidelines following an order rejecting the firm's NBFC license de-registration application.
