Seventeen-year-old Kumkum Mohod won India's first-ever individual recurve archery gold medal at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Saturday.
Mohod defeated reigning world gold medallist Kang Chaeyoung, silver medallist Zhu Jingyi, and world youth champion Oh Yejin in a shoot-off final.
Her victory secured India an Olympic quota for the 2028 Los Angeles Games as part of the country's historic nine-medal haul in Japan.
