Around 410,000 people demonstrated across France on Saturday against inadequate school funding and rising living costs, putting pressure on President Emmanuel Macron's administration.
Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez announced that police arrested nearly 1,000 individuals following serious confrontations, while 70,000 security personnel were mobilised nationwide.
Student organisations and labour unions stated they will continue mobilising until the government scraps its proposed budget measures and increases funding for public services.
