The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) busted a major racket in Navi Mumbai on August 31, 2026, involving the illegal alteration of expiry dates on popular food products.
Seized items included large quantities of Maggi, Lay's, and Kurkure, which were being relabeled at a packaging facility before being distributed to retail markets.
FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe confirmed the operation, with authorities now tracing the supply chain to identify the extent of the multi-crore financial fraud.
