The first batch of 18,300 Agniveers will complete their four-year tenure and exit service by December 31, 2026, under the Agnipath scheme.
The three armed services will release 75% of the first batch in phases starting mid-November, beginning with the Navy, followed by the Air Force and the Army.
The Centre plans to provide exiting personnel with a 50% reservation in constable and rifleman recruitment for Central Armed Police Forces and Assam Rifles.
