Khamenei Conditions US-Iran Peace on Ending Israel-Lebanon Conflict

Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei stated on July 26, 2026, that any peace agreement with the United States is contingent upon an absolute, unconditional end to Israeli aggression in Lebanon.

The conflict has resulted in at least 4,329 deaths in Lebanon, alongside the loss of 37 Israeli soldiers and four civilians, according to reports from the ongoing violence.

Tehran previously enshrined this demand in a June memorandum of understanding with Washington, though the agreement collapsed following a dispute over the Strait of Hormuz.
