Delhi's seven DDA biodiversity parks recorded 11,154 dragonflies and damselflies in a survey conducted from September 17 to 19, down from 13,253 in 2025.
Entomologist Mohd. Faisal attributed the marginal dip in diversity and density to erratic rains, adverse weather, and a lack of water pool formation.
The survey recorded two new species: the Yellow-tailed Ashy Skimmer at Aravalli Biodiversity Park and the Blue Grass Dart at Yamuna Biodiversity Park.
