DAC Clears Defence Purchases Worth ₹1.1 Lakh Crore for Armed Forces

The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) approved procurement proposals worth ₹1.1 lakh crore on September 7, 2026, to bolster the operational capabilities of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The package includes the modernization of 40 Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jets and the integration of advanced RVV BD air-to-air missiles to enhance aerial combat readiness.

This massive investment is part of the government's long-term strategy to reduce reliance on foreign imports and achieve self-reliance in critical military hardware by 2029.
