Vanderbilt Health Develops AI Tool to Speed Up Alzheimer's Referrals

Vanderbilt Health researchers received a $600,000 grant from Eli Lilly and Company to develop an AI triage tool designed to accelerate the referral process for Alzheimer's patients.

The 18-month project aims to reduce wait times between primary care recognition and neurology treatment by embedding an AI agent into the electronic health record system.

The tool will summarize patient charts, flag missing information, and recommend priority routing, with the team planning to measure success by the reduction in time to the first infusion.
