Top seed Alexander Zverev defeated Karen Khachanov in straight sets 6-3, 7-6, 7-6 on Friday to reach his third consecutive Grand Slam final at the US Open.
Zverev saved two set points in the final tiebreaker of a match that lasted two hours and 57 minutes to deny Khachanov's bid for the final.
Zverev will face the winner of the semi-final between Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe in Sunday's championship match.
