Fifty-six people died in rain- and storm-related incidents across Uttar Pradesh since Friday, with 46 others injured following an intense three-day wet spell.
The Central Water Commission reported that the Ghagra and Rapti rivers crossed danger and warning levels at several monitoring stations, posing severe flood threats.
The India Meteorological Department noted that the weather system weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area while moving north-northwestwards across the state.
