Indian Stock Markets Open on Muted Note Ahead of Fed Decision

Indian stock markets are likely to open on a negative note on Wednesday, with GIFT Nifty signalling a muted start near 22,685.

Benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty ended nearly flat on Tuesday amid profit booking in IT and banking shares and high crude prices.

The BSE Sensex declined 8.08 points to settle at 73,598.67, while the NSE Nifty edged down 3.45 points to close at 22,749.75.
