The Supreme Court has ordered that all donations at Vrindavan's Shri Banke Bihari Temple must be deposited directly into the deity's funds to prevent siphoning by temple staff.
The bench directed the temple committee to implement a transparent mechanism using designated boxes or online transfers, warning that any obstruction by sevayats will be viewed seriously.
The court ruled that priests cannot claim a share of offerings until the money is first accounted for in the name of the deity, and any property purchases using temple funds require prior judicial approval.
