Pakistan and Turkey agreed to swiftly deploy forces to Saudi Arabia under the Mecca Defence Alliance during an emergency meeting in Riyadh.
The decision was taken in response to ongoing attacks by Houthi rebel groups targeting cities, civilian facilities, economic installations, and holy sites.
The committee appointed retired Pakistan Army Lieutenant General Numan Mahmud as its first Secretary-General for a three-year term.
