Writer Kalyan Bandi has alleged that the Netflix film 'Gandhari', starring Taapsee Pannu and releasing September 3, 2026, plagiarizes a story he registered in 2019.
Bandi claims he pitched his concept to Netflix Vice President Monika Shergill in 2019, while the film's production house, Kathha Pictures, has dismissed the allegations as baseless.
The film, directed by Devashish Makhija and written by Kanika Dhillon, features an ensemble cast including Ishwak Singh and Swastika Mukherjee, and is set in the fictitious town of Joypurra.
