Nepal flood death toll surpasses 1,450 with 6,000 still missing

Nepal Police stated that the death toll from last month's flash floods reached 1,451 on Sunday, while over 6,000 people remain missing across the Himalayan nation.

The disaster originated near the Nepal-Tibet border, heavily impacting northern and central regions where swollen rivers swept away homes, vehicles, roads, and bridges.

Authorities reported that identification remains a major challenge, with nearly 1,300 recovered bodies temporarily buried after collecting DNA samples as only about 110 have been handed to families.
