The Maharashtra government allocated ₹90.72 lakh on Thursday for the fourth-year maintenance of specific tree plantations across 227 hectares in various districts.
The funds are restricted to plantation sites where at least 90 percent of the saplings remain alive, amid drought conditions affecting 304 talukas.
Local self-help groups and biodiversity management committees will undertake the upkeep work, with a utilisation certificate required within seven days.
