Tata Punch Leads August 2026 Auto Sales in India

Tata Punch emerged as the top-selling car in India for August 2026, surpassing competitors like the Maruti Wagon R and Swift in domestic sales volume.

Overall domestic passenger vehicle sales grew by 17.3% year-on-year as manufacturers increased inventory levels in anticipation of the upcoming festive season demand.

Maruti Suzuki reported a 35% surge in domestic sales to 1.77 lakh units, while Nomura maintained a 'Buy' rating on major OEMs including Mahindra and Hyundai following the strong monthly performance.
