India-Afghanistan T20I Confirmed for September 13 in Delhi

The Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) confirmed the first T20I between India and Afghanistan will proceed as scheduled on September 13, 2026, at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

The match faced potential rescheduling due to security and traffic concerns raised by the Delhi Police regarding the BRICS Summit, which expects to draw 25,000 to 35,000 spectators.

Despite initial pressure to postpone the game to September 14, the DDCA secured necessary support from the Delhi Traffic Police to maintain the original date for the series opener.
