Qualcomm CEO Unveils New Mobile Chips Focused on Agentic AI at Snapdragon Summit

Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon delivered the opening keynote at the Snapdragon Summit in Maui, Hawaii, introducing new mobile processors designed to transition smartphones from app-centric devices to AI agent-centric platforms.

The new chips, branded under the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series, are built using TSMC's 2-nanometer process and feature an Oryon CPU with two 5GHz Prime cores and six 4GHz Performance cores.

The chipsets integrate a dedicated neural processing unit and graphics processing unit to handle on-device AI workloads and agent tasks without relying on cloud processing.
