Wildlife specialists from the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation rescued a sub-adult elephant trapped with a truck tyre around its neck at Bukhial Tea Estate in Golaghat district.
Days prior, veterinarians treated another female elephant whose trunk was caught in a wire-mesh snare near Raimona National Park, while an abandoned calf was rescued from a muddy trench at Seconee Tea Estate.
The rescued calf, suffering from dehydration and muscular exhaustion, was admitted to the CWRC for rehabilitation alongside 10 other elephants currently under care.
