BCCI Struggles to Appoint Head of Sports Science and Medicine

BCCI Centre of Excellence head VVS Laxman confirmed the board is struggling to replace Nitin Patel, who vacated the Head of Sports Science and Medicine role in March 2025.

Multiple high-profile candidates, including former physio Andrew Leipus and an unnamed Australian expert, backed out of the full-time Bengaluru-based position at the last minute.

Laxman stated that the board has identified only seven quality professionals through its interview process and is currently upskilling internal staff while continuing the search for a suitable candidate.
